Interview with Kenneth Clarke

Earlier today we filmed our interview with Kenneth Clarke up in Nottingham. It went really well and it was a great experience meeting him. The interview went brilliant and he gave us great answers. However, before hand, we were pretty nervous as we had time against us with only 15 minutes for the interview. This called for a plan which we prepared the day before. We needed to make sure we had the correct equipment ready. For this interview, we decided to film on my Canon 5D, a video and picture camera which is being used more and more in the television and film production industry for its quality picture. Our list of preperation:

- 3 Cameras ( The Canon 5D for Mr.Clarke, another for zoe and one more for free cam around the room)
- 2 tripods (as the Canon and Zoe's shot were to be still)
- 10 questions which were broken down from around 15 to ask Mr Clarke.

It was important that we had the right amount of questions to ask Mr Clarke. Due to the time frame being very tight we had to summarise some questions, and those most relevant to our study.

The interview itself went great as previously said. Mr Clarke was a very polite, kind and funny man which really eased our nerves. After waiting in the Conservative meeting room, we were able to set up our camera's and quickly brief Mr Clarke on what our documentary was about and the sort of questions which will be asking. During the interview, he gave us great lengthy detailed answers (as politicians do) which was great for us, meaning we had a lot of footage to choose from. He made some very valid points in his interview and was particularly interesting listening to his views on the Wikileaks story. We also prepared a few personal questions for him, such as his area in politics (Prisons) and even his favourite genre of music, Jazz! The interview itself went on for around 20 minutes, 5 more minutes than expected and we were grateful for the time he had given us.
